Anti-inflammatory, immune supporting and a metabolic boost all in one 🧡 This juice can be whipped up in under 20 minutes and will last you several days in the fridge. Surprisingly, I actually prefer this drink warm, not hot nor cold. Drinking it warm is also more soothing on your digestive system, which makes it easier for your body to break down food and absorb nutrients.
You only need a handful of ingredients & you may use fresh or frozen, depending on where you live and the seasonal availability.
Grab a blender, strainer and pot and let's get started.
What you'll need:
2 large oranges, peeled and quartered
1 large lemon, peeled (you can keep the peel if it is organic and washed well and if you don't mind a stronger citrus taste. There are actually a ton of nutrients in the skin)
Ginger root (my best measurement of ginger is a thumb size, which I end up using more of because I love ginger. If you are new to using ginger, use the equivalent to the size of your thumb)
1 cup of diced pineapple (I use frozen pineapple, its easier to measure and more convenient)
Seasoning: dash of cayenne, cinnamon and salt
Directions:
After prepping/chopping all of your ingredients, add everything minus the seasoning - to a high powdered blender and blend until well combined.
Place a strainer on a bowl (or a pot like I do - because I consume this drink warm) and strain the juice. You may reuse the pulp for tea by freezing it into cubes and adding warm water when ready to consume.
Mix in your seasoning (add as little or as much as you prefer) and you are done!
I would highly recommend you try this drink warm (do not bring it to a boil), as it is very soothing and perfect on a cold day. Sometimes in the winter it can be hard to get your fruits and veggies in, as we crave more comforting hearty foods - this is an easy way to get more vitamin C into your winter diet. It is also perfect to sneak into your kid's diets and replace any processed sugary packaged juices.
